Radiology Information System
RIS is a flexible, feature-rich, and easy-to-use
system that is built around your facility’s needs. It is
designed to increase overall productivity, efficiency, reduce
operating costs, and improve the quality of patient care.
Scheduling
RIS offers several appointments
scheduling views to provide end users with great flexibility.
These views are completely customizable and allow each user to
have their own scheduling templates, appointment reasons,
alerts, and automatic authorization requests. Billing CPT
profiles based on the insurance carrier may also be added to
appointment reasons to save time.
Books View can display up to 12 modality
schedules from a single location or may show one modality across
multiple locations. This is the easiest, quickest, and most
efficient way to schedule.
Search View assists users in scheduling multiple
resources at one time. Instead of having to review numerous
schedules, the system will automatically locate available time
slots for up to 8 appointments. Each appointment slot can have
a customizable lag time.
Week View gives users an overview of a modality’s
schedule for the week or month. Set Appointment is used to
“work” patients into a full schedule and to distribute
appointments more evenly throughout the week. Schedules may be
printed in any customizable format.
Appointment List will show all appointments for
one modality. The Master List shows appointments for one or all
locations filtered by specific modalities.
Transcription
RIS includes a transcription package, complete with
formatting tools, user-definable macros, and a medical
dictionary spell checker. Patient information is automatically
populated in the customizable report. The appropriate
letterhead can be selected, based on the facility where the
study was performed.
Even though RIS includes transcription, a
practice can elect to use third party software such as Microsoft
Word. All data from RIS is transferred over to Word and
once the report is complete, it is uploaded back to RIS,
maintaining the exact formatting.
Registration
With RIS, it is possible to reduce registration time to
under one minute. All demographic information is displayed on
one screen making verification quick and easy. Insurance cards,
prescriptions, and other documents may be scanned into the
system with a single click.
Customizable consent and benefit forms may be
printed. However, most practices elect to have these forms
electronically signed using a tablet.
The registration process can even be scripted to
guide the user through the necessary steps required to complete
the check in process.
Report Signing and Auto Distribution
Physicians will enjoy the ease and speed of signing and editing
transcribed reports. With a single click, the physician can
move from one report to the next making the signing of an entire
list a quick and easy process. Another click, and the images
can be reviewed along with the report. The physician can also
edit a report, prior to signing.
Once a report is signed, it is automatically
placed in a print queue to be printed to paper and/or faxed from
the system. With RIS Referral Web Access Module,
reports can be viewed by the referring physician through the
Internet.
Referral Web Module
With the Referral Web Module, referring
physicians can submit appointment requests through the internet,
check on the status of a patient’s appointment, and print a
customizable referral receipt. In addition, physicians can
manage their own profiles regarding passwords, fax numbers and
how they would like to receive reports and images. The system
will also show the status of a patient’s report, reflecting
whether it has been dictated or not. If it is complete, the
physician can view or print the report along with key images.
Film Tracking
With RIS, film tracking is trouble-free. Staff members
will know where films are at all times. Films may be checked in
and out through a batch method or individually. Barcode
tracking is also available.
Mammography Module
RIS can track mammogram screenings and
outcomes. BIRAD categories may be tracked, as can recalls for
follow-up visits and biopsies. Each time a letter is sent to a
patient, a notation is made in the electronic medical record.
The data can later be queried to locate all BIRAD categories 4
and 5 or to get the total number of exams by radiologist or
technologist. Customized state reporting is also available. |
